21st Century Accounting Information Systems June 5, 2003 Naftali/Cliff Anderson (Jerusalem) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
Unlike many of the other AIS textbooks still being sold, this textbook was well written to begin with and was seriously edited and re-written where necessary to improve its teaching quality in this 5th Edition. The only criticism that I have of the text was the failure to clearly address the problem of how to code database entries so that a statement of cash balance could be generated using the direct method. I would recommend a different graphic artist for this next cover, but the authors are right up there with Charles Horngren in my book for writing easy to read and understand Accounting textbooks. Excellent for self-study when learning this in a classroom is not a viable option. The only worthy competitor with this textbook is "Accounting Information Systems" 3rd Edtion by James A. Hall which I also recommend .
Excellent October 26, 2003 T. Rugg (Sandy, Utah United States) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
I work as an accountant and was looking for a book to brush up on AIS. I don't have any other books, except my university text, to compare this to but this book has done an excellent job bringing me up to speed on the current AIS function. This field is rapidly changing and its important for practioners to keep on top of this area of study. I was not disappointed. In my opinion, this book can make this everchanging field very comprehensible to practioners at any level.

Beginners' guide for accounting system November 6, 2000 Alan (HONG KONG, HONG KONG HONG KONG) 1 out of 6 found this review helpful
This is a good book for people to understand accounting concept and how to apply in computer system. This is especially good for beginners in accounting software. The data flow diagram in the books is very clear but not detail enough.
