Product Description
This thorough, self-paced guide to Adobe Creative Suite 4 is ideal for users who want to learn the key features of Adobe's stellar collection of professional design tools. Readers are first given a brief program overview of the Design Suite that highlights common features and includes a section on cross-media workflows. Then readers will get up to speed with each software application using step-by-step, project-based lessons, with the lessons in each chapter building upon the reader's growing knowledge of the programs. Projects include designing a logo and creating basic assets, creating a brochure, prototyping a basic Website, creating interactive Flash and PDF documents, communicating through mobile devices, and submitting work for collaborative reviews. Review questions at the end of each chapter wrap up each lesson to help reinforce the skills learned in each chapter.

5 out of 5 stars An Excellent Integrated Functional Overview   June 16, 2009

It turns out that this book has what I need. This book provides the real world examples of working in fireworks to create a prototype, exporting the finished prototype and then bringing it back into Dreamweaver to complete a website.

I am not the type of person that likes to take the time to learn all of the tools that are part of a product. I need the fuctional overview of accomplishing the finished product. Creating a prototype in Fireworks and then getting it into Dreamweaver is a key element for me as I want to use Fireworks as my prototyping tool.

If you are looking for an indepth tutorial on the individual programs in CS4, look elsewhere as this is not the book for you. But if your looking for a book that explains how to integrate your work between applications than this book is gem. I have learned a lot by building the examples in the book.

AdobeCS4 CIB is a great way to learn the basics of what CS4 can do. Easy to read, easy to follow.

4 out of 5 stars Good introduction   June 9, 2009

I recently upgraded from CS2 to CS4 Design Premium - I'm very familiar with Photoshop, but not at all with Fireworks, Flash and Dreamweaver. In an afternoon, I worked through two fun example projects and now am very confident of finding my way through the other programs in the package. I went on to design two client websites in Fireworks straight away. I plan to buy the individual Classroom in a Book titles for each new program.

This course was just my style - real, working examples, self-paced instruction. This title is a very basic overview, but teaches a lot if you have very limited time.

Most Excellent lesson book. It has taught me many new photo and website design methods. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in a true hands on learning experience.

4 out of 5 stars Good condition with decent shipping time   February 19, 2009

The book arrived in good condition and fairly quickly even with regular mail. I prefer not to pay for express shipping and have found the media mail to sometimes take quite a long time. In my experience some shippers have even used the USPS media mail method as an excuse for a really long wait. This book was shipped in a timely manner and I appreciate that.
