| Customer Reviews: It worked for me November 25, 2009 Eric Krause (Colorado) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This was the one book I used to prepare for the PMP exam. It is very well written, easy to follow, and the test tips are invaluable. I took the test yesterday and passed it the first time.
Loved this book! March 2, 2010 S. Young 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love this book. I am in the middle of a career change and having a degree in management and having had quite a bit of experience with projects, I thought I would venture out and see what Project Management was officially all about. I signed up to take a PMP Prep course and found it using only the PMBOK as the only resource. I feel like I know absolutely nothing, almost dumb. So, I thought, I need to find something more understandable to supplement that book. I found this one and love the simple ways it takes to describe what I feel has become a more complicated process than it needs to. I think this book is worth its weight in gold. The way it ties into each chapter of the PMBOK and explains it in understandable terms. I am very glad I bought it to use as a guide to help with passing the exam and think you will benefit greatly from reading it too!
Easy to Understand CAPM Resource May 17, 2010 Jarrett E. Ford (Hollywood, MD) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your work on the "All-In-One CAPM/PMP Project Management Certification Exam Guide Second Edition". Wow that is a long title! Ever since taking a Project Management class at Full Sail University which gave me the required hours to take the CAPM exam, I wanted to further my training. After graduating from Full Sail in February I studied your book for one month before my scheduled test. Your book takes concepts and tools from the PMBOK (which is a very hard read as you know) and puts the information into easy-to-understand concepts and explanations on how principles and tools are used clearly and concisely. It really is a great resource for decoding the PMBOK and providing better learning of the material. I passed the CAPM test my first attempt. Thank you.
my point of view August 25, 2010 shilong I'm so excited to see the result final appear in the computer screen start with 'congratulation' instead of 'sorry', what I saw in my first CAPM exam.
I am a foreign student who study finance management in Singapore, a person who curious about new things. and I find project management is so interesting and useful to create new thing in the real life while I take a course called project management in university. And I think I will try to become a project manager in the future and I decide to take the CAPM exam first.
As overconfident and less preparation (seems difficult to read and remember the whole PMBOK), I'm so sad to fail the first time. Then I know I need a good preparation for the next time and I'm so happy to find your book (All in one CAPM/PMP, project management certification) in bookshop, which really help me a lot during a month revision time. The important thing is the book not only helping me pass the exam but also let me know more and understand better about project management. And finally, I pass the exam.
I agree what you said, a good project manager not necessary to get CAPM. To me, get CAPM just the first step, and I know there is a long way to learn about project management and become professional project manager.

Good for questions & answers, but too many errors October 20, 2009 HandCompass (Ohio) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I bought this for the practice exams and the questions with answers at the end of every chapter. The answers at the end of the chapters have been improved over the first edition by repeating the entire question and the possible answers before providing the correct answer with explanation. Unfortunately, the book contains both typographical and substantive errors. I wasted a lot of time trying to understand some concepts or duplicate some answers that proved to be poorly explained or just wrong. Although these problems occur in many chapters, here are a few examples from the Time Management chapter: The difference between total float and free float is muddled by the use of the term "total" in the definition of free float. The practice calculation of critical path and float times on the CD is riddled with errors: The exercise requests a calculation of "available" float, which is not defined either in the book or in the PMBOK guide. Several of the answers provided for float are neither free nor total float, just wrong. The total time calculated for one of the paths is written as "1" instead of "21". Overall, I am unaware of another book with so many practice questions, but the book would have been much better with better quality management.
